# SystemSculpt > SystemSculpt is an AI plugin for Obsidian. Chat with your vault using your own Claude Code or Codex on desktop, or SystemSculpt AI on desktop and mobile. ## Product facts - SystemSculpt is free to install from Obsidian's community plugins. - Chat with your installed, signed-in Claude Code or Codex on desktop needs no SystemSculpt account or plan. Those services keep their own accounts and usage. - SystemSculpt AI is hosted. Eligible new accounts can claim 500 one-time starter credits for hosted AI, with no card required. The existing connection flow handles eligibility and email verification. - Monthly costs $9 USD per month. Lifetime costs $149 USD once for permanent Pro access on a 5-device personal license. Both include a monthly hosted-credit allowance. - One-time credit packs are separate from plans: $19 USD for 10,000 credits, $49 USD for 30,000 credits, $99 USD for 70,000 credits. - New chats default to Auto, subject to preserved native preferences; saved chats retain their choices. Hosted Auto creates and edits notes without asking, and asks before moving or deleting. Claude Code and Codex use their own approval rules; requests that need approval appear in the chat. - Chats and written results are saved as Markdown in your vault. Hosted operations send the content needed for the operation to the service; see the Privacy Policy. An on-computer CLI can also send content to its own AI service. An on-computer CLI is not a promise of offline inference. - Semantic indexing, audio transcription, document processing and image generation use SystemSculpt's hosted service and credits even when chat uses your own CLI. - Requirements: Obsidian 1.7.2 or later. SystemSculpt supports Obsidian on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android.
