Frequently asked questions

Each answer points you to the exact place in the plugin or docs where you can double-check the behaviour.

Core usage

These questions surface whenever teams first deploy the SystemSculpt AI plugin. If you need deeper walkthroughs, jump into the dedicated guides linked inside each answer.

Where are chats and exports stored?
Chats live under the folder you pick in Settings → SystemSculpt → Files & Backup (the default is SystemSculpt/Chats). Exports reuse the same location so everything stays together.

See the vault workflows and chat workspace guides for storage tips.

Can I run SystemSculpt offline?
Yes. Add a local HTTP provider such as LM Studio or Ollama in Settings → Overview & Setup (advanced mode required). Chat and document workflows use the provider you choose, while managed speech-to-text continues to use the SystemSculpt cloud unless you change it.

Consult model providers for adapter requirements and maintenance & automation for fallback checks.

How do I manage Model Context Protocol tools?
Turn on advanced mode, add servers from Settings → Overview & Setup, and run Clean Up Phantom MCP Tools if a server goes offline. The plugin removes stale entries automatically after that.

Review agent mode tooling and command palette entries for MCP cleanup.

Can I keep original recordings?
Toggle “Keep recordings after transcription” under Settings → Recording. Recorded .wav files stay in SystemSculpt/Recordings when the option is on.

The audio & transcription guide walks through recorder toggles and post-processing.

How do I restore recommended defaults?
Open Settings → SystemSculpt → Quick actions and click “Restore Recommended Defaults”. Directories, provider toggles, and feature flags roll back to the out-of-the-box setup.

Jump to the settings reference for a tour of quick actions and advanced mode.

Where can I find release notes?
The Change Log tab inside Settings lists every release pulled from GitHub. Use “Load More Releases” to page through older versions.

Change tracking lives in the maintenance & automation playbook under diagnostics.
