Frequently asked questions

Each answer points you to the exact place in the plugin or docs where you can double-check the behaviour.

Core usage

These questions surface whenever teams first deploy the SystemSculpt AI plugin. If you need deeper walkthroughs, jump into the dedicated guides linked inside each answer.

Where are chats stored?
Chats are saved as markdown files under the folder you pick in Settings → SystemSculpt → Workspace (the default is SystemSculpt/Chats), so you can inspect or reopen them directly in your vault.

See the vault workflows and chat workspace guides for storage tips.

Can I run SystemSculpt offline?
Vault files and saved chats remain in Obsidian, but managed Chat, embeddings, transcription, document processing, and image generation need an internet connection to reach the SystemSculpt service.

Consult SystemSculpt AI for service requirements and maintenance & automation for connection checks.

Which tools can Chat use?
SystemSculpt includes built-in vault tools for reading, searching, creating, editing, moving, and deleting notes and folders. There are no remote tool servers or tool credentials to configure.

Review the agent workspace tools and command palette entries for the built-in tools.

Can I keep original recordings?
Toggle “Keep recordings after transcription” under Settings → SystemSculpt → Workflow. Recorded .wav files stay in SystemSculpt/Recordings when the option is on.

The audio & transcription guide walks through recorder toggles and post-processing.

How do I restore recommended defaults?
Open Settings → SystemSculpt → Advanced and use the reset action. Review the confirmation before replacing client-side preferences.

Jump to the settings reference for the Advanced reset controls.

Where can I find release notes?
See the SystemSculpt AI release history on GitHub. The Obsidian community listing shows the currently published plugin version.

Browse GitHub releases for version history or open the Obsidian listing for the current published version.
