Get started with SystemSculpt

Install the plugin

1. Open Obsidian Settings → Community plugins.
2. Find SystemSculpt AI, select Install, then Enable.
3. Run Open chat from Obsidian's command palette.

Use your own Claude Code or Codex on desktop

1. Install the CLI you want to use and sign in on this computer. For Codex, use codex login. For Claude Code, run claude and use /login if sign-in is needed.
2. In SystemSculpt chat, choose Claude Code or Codex in the run line below the message box.
3. If you installed or signed in after opening the plugin, use Detect again in the backend menu.

SystemSculpt can choose a ready native backend automatically, while preserving your explicit choice and an existing paid hosted selection. Check the run line instead of assuming which backend will answer. See Choose your AI and the Claude Code guide.

Use hosted AI, including on mobile

1. Open Settings → SystemSculpt AI → Account.
2. Select Sign in or Sign up and complete the browser flow. If you already have a license key, License key → Activate is also available.
3. Return to Obsidian and check the account connection. If the browser cannot return automatically, choose Open the sign-in page again, paste the Connection code, then choose Complete sign-in.

Eligible new accounts can claim 500 one-time starter credits with no card required. Follow any email-verification instructions shown during sign-in. On Obsidian mobile, chat uses hosted SystemSculpt AI rather than a desktop CLI.

Send a first message

Choose the backend and review the mode below the message box. New chats start in Auto, with the backend's own approval behavior. Type @ to select a note, then ask: “Summarize the decisions in this note.” On desktop, Enter sends; on touch devices, use Send. If an action needs approval, read its inline request before deciding.

Your chat is saved as Markdown in the vault. Learn attachments, history and approvals. Semantic indexing is optional; it is not required to finish installation.
