Write every note in Markdown in Obsidian, with AI that edits beside you, using SystemSculpt

What it does

Write Markdown, not syntax.

Already have a file to read? Open it in the Markdown viewer, look up any syntax in the Markdown cheat sheet, or send it on as a Google Doc. The SystemSculpt plugin for Obsidian is free to start; pricing shows what the paid plans add.

Toolbar and shortcuts
Headings, bold, italic, links, lists, tasks, quotes, tables and code from the buttons, or Ctrl or ⌘ B, I and K.
Lists that carry on
Press Enter in a list and the next bullet, number or unticked box is written for you. Enter on an empty item ends the list.
Draft kept here
What you write is saved in this browser as you type and is there when you come back. Download the .md to keep it anywhere.

Questions.

Is this Markdown editor free?

Yes. There’s no account and no sign-up. Write, preview and download as often as you like.

Where is my draft saved?

In this browser’s local storage, on this device. It’s there when you reopen the page in the same browser, but not on another device, or once an incognito window closes. Choose Download .md to keep a copy.

What keyboard shortcuts does it have?

Ctrl B (⌘ B on a Mac) for bold, Ctrl I for italic and Ctrl K for a link. Enter in a list starts the next item, and Undo takes back any button or shortcut.

Does it support Obsidian syntax?

Yes. It writes [[wikilinks]] and ==highlights== from the toolbar, and the preview shows wikilinks, callouts, highlights and #tags as Obsidian does, beside GitHub tables, task lists and footnotes.

Can I open a .md file I already have?

Yes. Choose Open file or drop it on the editor. It opens in this browser; edit it and download it again with the same name.

Is my writing uploaded?

No. It stays in your browser and isn’t sent to SystemSculpt or anyone else.

Does it cost anything?

No. It’s free, with no account and no sign-up.
