What it does

HTML you can paste anywhere.

Have HTML and need Markdown? Use HTML to Markdown. Want a document instead? Make a PDF or a Word file. The SystemSculpt plugin for Obsidian is free to start; pricing shows what the paid plans add.

Body or whole page
Copy just the HTML for a CMS or template, or download a complete .html page with a small readable stylesheet.
GitHub Markdown
Tables with alignment, task lists, strikethrough, footnotes and autolinks, and headings with ids so #links work.
Safe to paste
HTML in your Markdown is kept, but scripts, styles, frames and event handlers are removed, as on GitHub.

Questions.

How do I convert Markdown to HTML?

Paste Markdown or open a .md file. The HTML appears beside it as you type. Choose Copy HTML, or Download .html for a page you can open in any browser.

What’s the difference between Body and Whole page?

Body is the HTML of the document alone, to paste into a page, template or CMS that already has its own styles. Whole page adds the doctype, a title from the first heading and a small stylesheet, so the file looks right on its own.

Is HTML inside my Markdown kept?

Yes, tags like <details>, and <kbd> come through. Scripts, styles, iframes, forms and on-click style attributes are removed, the same way GitHub cleans a README.

Do headings get ids?

Yes, the same ids GitHub gives them: “## Getting started” becomes id="getting-started", so a link written [Start](#getting-started) jumps to it.

What happens to Obsidian syntax?

Wikilinks become their text, callouts become boxes with their title, ==highlights== become <mark> and %%comments%% are left out. The front matter at the top isn’t included.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The HTML is made in your browser and isn’t uploaded or stored.

Does it cost anything?

No. It’s free, with no account and no sign-up.
