- An address alone, text then an address, a note name, or a link already in Markdown or wikilink form to rewrite.

- Spaces and parentheses are encoded, brackets in the text are escaped, and www. and email addresses get https:// or mailto:.

How do I make a link in Markdown?
Put the text in square brackets and the address straight after it in parentheses: [Obsidian](https://obsidian.md). An image is the same with ! in front, and the text in the brackets becomes its alt text.
How do I link to another note in Obsidian?
Type the note’s name in double square brackets, like [[Project plan]]. Add #Heading to link to a section and |other text to show different words. Obsidian also follows Markdown links to notes, written as [text](Project%20plan.md).
What is a reference link?
A link whose address sits in a list at the end of the note: [Obsidian][1] in the text, and [1]: https://obsidian.md below. The text stays easier to read, and one address can be used many times.
Why does my link break when the address has spaces or brackets?
A space or a closing parenthesis ends the address in a Markdown link. The generator writes a space as %20 and parentheses as %28 and %29, which browsers and Obsidian read as the same address.
Are my links uploaded?
No. The links are made in your browser and aren’t uploaded, stored or visited.
Does it cost anything?
